ในภาคนี้สิ่งที่น่าสนใจคือการสร้างฮีโร่เป็นของตัวเอ ง ขึ้นมาอยู่ในหมู่กองทัพได้ เพื่อเป็นตัวละครทีเด็ดในการใช้ตะลุยคู่ต่อสู้นั่นเอ ง โดยเราสามารถกำหนดลักษณะของตัวละครได้ตั้งแต่ ความสามารถ สีผม และอาวุธที่ถนัดรวมถึงพลัง และพื้นฐานการต่อสู้ด้วยได้ด้วยตัวคุณเอง และเหล่าฮีโร่ที่คุณสร้างขึ้นนี้ สามารถที่จะสั่งสมประสบการณ์ หรือเก็บเลเวลเพื่อเพิ่มระดับความสามารถได้ด้วย นอกจากนี้การเพิ่มระดับความสามารถของตัวละคร ยังช่วยปลดล็อกพลังพิเศษใหม่ๆ ให้ใช้ได้อีก

Battle For Middle Earth II The Rise of The Witch King เป็นภาคเสริมตัวล่าสุดจาก EA ซึ่งยังคงยึดพื้นเรื่อง จากนวนิยายชื่อดังของ J.R.R. Tolkien เนื้อหาในภาคนี้ก็เหมือนกับภาค Battle For Middle Earth II ซึ่งไม่ได้เป็นเนื้อหาที่ปรากฏในภาพยนตร์ (เพราะเนื้อหาในภาพยนตร์อยู่ในภาคแรกหมดแล้ว) เนื้อเรื่องกล่าวถึงการเถลิงอำนาจของ The Witch King ผู้นำของเหล่า Nazgul และสงครามของฝ่าย Angmar กับ Arnor ซึ่งเหตุการณ์เหล่านี้ เกิดก่อนเรื่องราวในภาพยนตร์ถึง 1700 ปีเลยทีเดียว
ภายในภาคนี้ทาง EA ได้เพิ่มฝ่ายใหม่ทั้ง 2 ฝ่าย ฮีโร ใหม่ และยังมีฟังค์ชันใหม่อีกมากมาย ที่เจ๋งที่สุดก็คงหนีไม่พ้น การสามารถนำกองทัพที่คุณสร้างขึ้น ในฉากการเล่นนี้ ไปเล่นต่อในฉากต่อไปได้ โดยไม่ต้องสร้างกองทัพใหม่เหมือนแต่ก่อน
